Rami Ezzeddine
Meet Rami Ezzeddine, who never really “grew up” in one place moving often from from Flint, Michigan, to San Bernardino, California, to a brief but formative stint in Beirut, Lebanon. Along the way, he encountered people from all walks of life shaping how he views service and community today.

It was during COVID-19 that at 16 years old, Rami found himself buying into some of the logic-presenting misinformation being shared at the time. There were charts, graphs, “sources,” and voices claiming they had the real story. And for a while, it was easy to believe them.
​
Other bits of misinfo being spread online also spread confusion among his own family whether it has been relatives claiming transmission through bizarre means like texting; Rami soon realized that for people without someone to reassure them or explain the truth, this kind of misinformation can be genuinely harmful.

Motivated by his experiences, a love for teaching and a desire to create accessible, evidence-based education, Rami founded FactCheckMD: a platform dedicated to making clear, trustworthy medical information available and more importantly understandable to everyone.
Our Story
Growing up during the COVID-19 pandemic, Rami Ezzeddine and Giovanni Chahine witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of widespread medical misinformation.
This era saw a significant spike in false health claims and misunderstandings, such as claims concerning complex medical topics like tumorigenesis and vaccines, often propagated by less educated family members and viral social media posts.

Motivated by these challenges, Rami and Giovanni were inspired to found FactCheck MD, an organization dedicated to curbing the spread of medical misinformation and providing reliable, scientifically accurate information to the public.
It is now that we present to you: FactCheck MD, where we are on a mission to empower individuals with the knowledge they need to navigate the complex landscape of medical information online.
Our team is committed to conducting thorough research, verifying sources, and debunking myths to ensure that the public has access to accurate, science-based information that they can rely on and consequently spread themselves.
